Remnants of Grace

She woke me
Not in a painful
Anxious kind of way

It was a soul-stirring

“Don’t miss it.
Wake up with me.
Remember
The light of your being
In harmony with mine.”

I didn’t hear her at first
I only knew
I couldn’t sleep

Something was calling,
I didn’t understand it

So, I got up
And started busying myself

She called again

One look out the window
And I knew
There was still time

I ran to greet her
Oh, what a display
Reds, oranges,
Yellows, purples

Noticed,
But not captured.
In the mind’s eye, yes
Proof, no.

I don’t need proof
To believe

The colors began
To dissipate
I knew they were there
And that’s enough

She didn’t need
To be captured
But rather released

When she rises
And she will again,
She will be different
The next time.

I do not need
To entrap her
I need to respect
Her energy belongs

As does mine
As does yours

She left a remnant
A remnant is enough

It doesn’t make
Her less glorious.
She lights the world
In every corner
She chooses
To show up.

How’s that for resilience?

Remnants of Grace
She never left,
You know.

She’s simply evolving
To what’s next.
