A Walk in the Rain

When life
Flashes before your eyes
It's like walking in the rain

Softly, gently
Or, it comes down on you
Like buckets

Winds of change
Breeze through
Until you realize
Those days are over

A walk through many chapters

Sights, sounds, feelings
Enrapture you
Momentary silence
After chaotic instances pass

And then again,
Until it's over,
You continue
To create the next chapter

If you wallow in the past,
This chapter goes by
With less
Memories to embrace

If you hope for the future
You miss out
On the life
All around you

Open your eyes
Open your heart
Whispering gently
Or sometimes in buckets

We continue
